about

FS Creative is a partnership created by Dr Emma Fry and Shelley Cater-Shipway to provide project management, creative producing and consultancy services for clients across arts and heritage.

At the core of our practice is the development of artists and arts professionals, with a particular emphasis on socially-engaged, collaborative and participatory work. This is a feature of our work both individually and jointly as FS Creative. We also provide services in small-scale organisational development, network management and communications.

With over 15 years of individual experience of working in these sectors, our work together began when we first met in 2014 at CVAN North West. Five years of working closely together as project managers and network managers followed. The seeds of FS Creative were sown during this time to establish a unique professional partnership built on shared values of care, empathy, respect, connection, honesty, and creativity. We began to recognise these values as not only integral to the strength of our personal connection, but also, crucially, to the success of the projects we delivered. These values sit at the heart of the work we deliver as FS Creative. It is hugely important to us both that we take care of one another and the people with whom we work.

Our practice is grounded in collaboration and creative strategic thinking. A hands-on, personable approach allows us to quickly build relationships and strengthen the value and social impact of arts and cultural practice. We believe in a flexible approach to working with our partners and have successfully grown an extensive professional network and portfolio of clients.

Clients include: In Certain Places (University of Central Lancashire), Heart of Glass, St Helens Borough Council, Wigan Council, Mark Devereux Projects, The Turnpike CIC, CVAN NW, The Birley & Museumand.
